Safety Protocol - COVID-19

SAFETY GUIDELINES FOR RE-OPENING

We, the coaches and the entire staff at Hayasaki Gymnastics Center are committed to the complete safety and well-being of all members and their families.

As we prepare for the reopening of our gym on June 8, 2020,  we ask parents to please prepare your children for their safe return by reading and abiding by the following guidelines:

  • Please check your child’s temperature before they arrive for class. If a student shows any sign of a temperature, cold, coughing, or any symptoms of illness, the student should not attend class. If anyone in the student’s household shows symptoms of illness the student should not attend class.

  • All students must continuously wash/sanitize their hands before, during, and after class.

  • Regarding mask or facial coverings use:

    – All staff - Will wear face masks or facial coverings at all times while in the facility.

    –  Coaching staff – Will use masks or facial coverings at all times unless deemed a hazard during spotting.

    –  Parents – Utilize masks or facial coverings at all times while in the facility.

    –  Students – All students must wear masks or facial coverings while entering the facility. Once arriving to their initial physical-distanced station in the class, the athlete can then remove the mask or facial coverings, place it into a paper bag, and keep it isolated with their personal items throughout training. The mask or facial coverings should be reapplied while using other areas of the facility (i.e. bathrooms), and reapplied while exiting the facility after training.

  • Please have children stay in the automobile until class starts. Please maintain social distance as you enter our entrance door. Only one family member may accompany the student into the building.

  • The viewing area/waiting room will be limited to 7 people at one time and viewers must maintain proper social distancing.

  • Please only one family member per child in the viewing area.

  • Students must bring bags with their own bottle of water, hand sanitizer and other personal items.

  • Each athlete must transport their gym bag from station to station with bags being kept 6 feet apart.

  • We ask all parents to please instruct and prepare their children for these new safety protocols.  Please stress your athlete’s role in maintaining safety guidelines for themselves and others.

Steps to ensure safety and proper hygiene to prevent illness spread:

  • All coaches and staff are required to take temperatures before reporting to the gym.  If any staff member shows any sign of cold, coughing, or any symptoms of illness they will not be allowed to coach.

  • Coaches will wash and sanitize hands often, before, during and after each class.

  • We will provide a designated entrance and exit door in order to avoid overcrowding  and contact within the lounge area. Students and parents must utilize the designated doors.

  • Children will not be allowed to utilize the cubbies and dressing room. Students must come to class fully dressed in proper gymnastics attire. All personal clothing and items must be stored in his/her individual bag.

  • No food allowed in the facility.

  • Water fountains will not be available for use.  Students must bring his/her own water bottle and keep it in their bag between use.

  • We will provide each student personal chalk that they can keep in their own plastic container, solely for his/her use.

  • Classes will be limited to 6-7 students per class.

  • Students must remain 6-8 feet apart at all times, including during class.

  • The mats and equipment will be cleaned and sanitized regularly.  Door knobs, light switches, and high touch areas will be sanitized multiple times a day. We will increase the frequency of cleaning and sanitization of bathroom facilities throughout the day.

From the bottom of our heart we want to say thank you for the support you have shown to Hayasaki Gymnastics Center through the years. We have missed you and we look forward to reopening our facility soon!  We look forward to seeing familiar faces, as well as new students (but don’t forget your mask!) We recognize these changes will take some adjustment for us all, and we appreciate your cooperation as we welcome you back to the fun and excitement of Hayasaki Gymnastics Center.
